It’s official… Alexander Wang (AlexanderWangNY) is the next guest designer for H&M(@hm)! Wang will also be the first American designer to collaborate with the company. The collection will feature both men’s and women’s wear and on November 6, 2014 it is set to hit over 250 stores worldwide as well as online at hm.com.

In 2005, after attending two years at Parson’s in New York City, Wang decided to branch out and build his own brand focusing primarily on knitwear. Just two years later he debuted an entire collection of women’s ready-to-wear designs on the catwalk and has been a household name ever since. He is recognized for his urban designs and his contrasts that blend consistently from the refined to the imperfect. Wang draws inspiration from his surroundings, saying, “I’m not like most designers, who have to set sail on an exotic getaway to get inspired. Most of the time, it’s on my walk to work, or sitting in the subway and seeing something random or out of context.”

November, 6 will definitely be a date marked on our calendar’s! From what we can tell from the collection preview, we will be seeing a lot of sports gear, oversized jackets, knitwear and beanies. This sporty collection will also feature baggy pants, a little black dress and a bra-top.

While discussing working with H&M, Alexander Wang recently stated, “I am honored to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to push boundaries and to set a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle,”
