Today I took a picturesque stroll on Ocean Way, noting the panoramic views of Santa Monica, whitewashed adobe walls, towering eucalyptuses, sycamores and prickly palms. And, who hasn’t experienced the burning sensation while exercising on the several Santa Monica stairs? Today, I decided to leave my yoga pants at home, and experience these colorful stairs with the pinache they deserve.
At the bottom of these stairs I noted the sunset draping over the Will Rogers State Beach. The allure of the ocean, the salted breeze, the sound of the waves, is what attracted me to come and live in this part of Los Angeles.
This is one of the many places that encourage putting away the smart phone and playing outdoors. Except, for selfie time.
