I bet many of you are thinking, oh candy! That might honestly be true because of the huge lines Dylan’s candy brings in their flagship stores in New York and Los Angeles everyday. Founder Dylan Lauren, which is the famous designer Ralph Lauren’s daughter, has created a name for herself for the last 13 years. As a Duke graduate in art history, Lauren’s goal was to make her dream come true and fortunately she was blessed with her father’s entrepreneurship.
Dylan’s Candy Bar, created in 2001, is the dream come true of candy lovers around the United States. With it’s Willy Wonka type of design, the stores consist of 15,000 square feet, who wouldn’t go mad for candy, I know I would. Lauren states before that this was her “dream come true” as a child and she is so happy she was able to make it come true. She wanted to be able to make art out of candy with its wrappers and especially its flavors and she has created a candy empire – that’s wonderful.
Today, Lauren’s company is incredibly popular and has 5 locations which consist of: NYC, Los Angeles, Miami, Houston and East Hampton, New York. The company has also been seen in many popular movies and TV shows like Hitch, Arthur, Gossip Girl, Project Runway and Cake Boss.
