Did you know that your #nails are #skin too? They may not seem like it, but in nails are made out of dead skin cells. It might be easy to disregard your nails with the excuse that they’re “just dead skin cells,” but I challenge you to do the opposite. Skin is skin, and it’s important to take care of all of it. Below are some simple steps for keeping your dead skin cells looking top notch this #summer.
1. Eat More #Yogurt – Yogurt contains vitamin B12, which keeps your nails #healthy instead of brittle. Next time you’re at the grocery store, pick up some #Greekyogurt – it’s healthy and makes your nails happy.
2. #Hydrate – You may be thinking “No duh,” but sometimes the no-brainers are the things we forget the most. Drink more water. Your nails will thank you for it.
3. Invest In A #Nail Hardener – Eating Yogurt helps, but sometimes it’s good to buy a polish for your nails that strengthens them while giving them some shine.
4. #Moisturize – This summer, pick out a large pump bottle of lotion to rub onto your hands every night
5. Opt for Shorter Nails – It might be tempting to try out the “claws” look, but it isn’t necessarily the best thing for your nails. Growing longer nails (or getting acrylic ones) often creates brittle nails that take more time to keep up with. Keep nails short enough that they don’t break, but long enough to cover the tip of your finger.
6. Be Selective About #Polish – This is similar to the third point, but when you’re looking for a #nailpolish, be sure to look for polishes that will take care of your nails rather than harm them.
7. Don’t Bite – Biting your nails is a nasty habit. I’ve dealt with it for years. Take care of your nails (and your teeth) by biting into food instead of your nails.
