Today I went to Ulta, for my first beauty haul to get a few summer beauty necessities, because I change my beauty regimen every season.
With the weather being hotter and more humid (or dryer depending where you live) your hair, nails and skin screams for help. That’s why you may need to change a few products , because when you see that the products you are using are not working, that’s a sign.
I started with Murad clarifying cleanser to prep the skim, that can be used all year round.
In my case I feel my hair is a bit dryer than usual and it could be a mix of the weather but also because I just got highlights done, so I’m looking for something nourishing. So my first option was the Shea Moisture products, and my favorite is the Jamaican Black Castor Oil, it strengthen, helps with growth and restoresyour hair and I use it as a leave-in conditioner. I have noticed that when you use several products from the same brand it just works better, so I got the Yucca and plantain anti-breakage strengthening shampoo, and when I use these 2 products together I really don’t need anything else on my hair, I don’t even blow dry it, just a few drops of shine and that’s it. And for me that is huge since I have freezy hair.
Next I got a new moisturizer by Mario Badescu, it is my first time trying this brand. This one has collagen which I have never used before, and since I was trying new things I thought it would be a good idea. This product is so good I don’t even have to reapply it during the day and my skin feels moist and fresh, so it’s a win win! They are offering a gift with purchase and I got the flower & tonic mask!
I have always wanted to try eye gel pads, so I did. I got these from Altcheck MD they have phyto collage, retinyl palmitate and good old vitamin E. You put them on clean skin for 30 mins, so I was working on my blog while I had it on, 30 mins or so later I took them off I felt depuffed, hydrated and refreshed. I’m so glad I tried it, the box says to put it in the fridge for better results. I didn’t read it until after, but I will do it next time. I do that with all of my creams I keep them in the fridge and when you apply it feels like it’s doing double the work on your skin, and who doesn’t want that, right? This item is only sold in store, but I linked a similar one the sale online!
So keeping the spirit of trying new things I got this NYX wonder stick, it’s like contouring for dummies (me). I have mentioned this before, but I am not a make up person, I am a skincare person and on most of my photoshoots I am not wearing any make up, just lipstick. I love lipstick, lip gloss, lip stain, lip liner, you name it I have it. But I thought to myself why not try it, so I bought it. To tell the truth I haven’t tried it yet, maybe I’m scared I will mess up, but really I don’t see how, the box comes with instruction, so for my next big event I will try it, so stay tuned for my Instagram post.
And last but definitely not least, I got my favorite dry shampoo by Batiste. I love this one so much because it has a hint of color, I got it in dark & deep brown. It doesn’t leave a white residue on my roots and keeps my hair looking on point for longer. And the less you wash your hair, the longer your color lasts and I’m all about that.
One last thing, don’t forget to drink lots of water and stay hydrated all year round, and your skin will thank you for it!
