Fashion week has officially arrived in Milan! The week began on September 17 and will run until September 23 with collections from Prada(@Prada), Gucci (@gucci), Emporio Armani(@armani), Fendi(@Fendi) and many more. We’re taking a close look at a few of the designers and breaking down some of the collections that opened the first two days of #MFW.

Prada.

Miuccia Prada was not the first during this years fashion week to draw inspiration from the 70s. However, Prada was able to take the entire decade and recreate to become completely modern. With the runway created as lilac sand dunes, it was hard not to feel a 70s vibe- and then the designs emerged. The first few designs that hit the runway were mostly black with very strong brown stitching featured on both dresses and trench coats. We were soon exposed to the amazing color palette that Prada is so adored for with each look completed with calf-length socks featuring blocks of color and patterns.

Gucci.

Gucci’s SS15 collection featured a 60s bohemian vibe with washed out denim, fur gilets and suede A-line minis. We even witnessed a little military vibe with cropped Hassaars jackets including gold rope trim and bold buttons. The collection included trousers that were flat fronted and both wide and cropped, as well as a few looks that instantly reminded us of a sailors uniform- but it worked!

Moschino.

Quite possibly one of the most talked about collections, Jeremy Scott for Moschino(@Moschino) drew his inspiration from none other than Barbie herself. His collection featured plenty of pink, glitter and ruffles detailing short mini skirts, shorts and crop tops. We were completely obsessed with the Barbie 80s style ballgowns which made us feel as if our favorite childhood doll had just come to life. “Like every girl and gay boy, I loved Barbie. It’s hard not to; she’s practically perfect,” Scott said, “She’s a good big sister, she’s had every job in the world, worn every outfit. And it’s just joyful. Her and I share the same things: We just want to bring joy to people.”
