Cara Delevingne Launches Capsule Collection for DKNY

Supermodal Cara Delevingne (@caradelevingne) has appeared in four Donna Karen New York campaigns within the past two years and now she is working even closer with the brand launching her own 15-piece capsule collection that embraces her famous and envied style.

The collection that DKNY (@DKNY) and Delevingne decided to team up on over a year ago will feature a very sporty vibe with tank tops, track pants, bomber jackets, sports bras and of course, leave it to Delevingne to include a few different onesies. The price starts at $70 for which you can purchase one of the beanies and goes up to $375 for the leather jacket.

In an exclusive interview with E! News, the model describes the line as being “super comfy.”

“I’m really passionate about what I do,” she says. “I don’t want to ever put my name on something I’m not 100 percent proud of and really involved in, as well. It was just kind of incredible going through all of the colors and making sure the material is important because I am all about comfort. They’re all very comfortable clothes. It’s very much what I wear, and what I think my fans will wear because this is for my fans mainly.”

During the collection’s press release, Delevingne said, “I first started to work with DKNY almost two years ago. They always encouraged my design input, my personal style and my ideas from the very beginning of our working relationship. Our creative synergy only grew with time and before you knew it we were exchanging ideas for a jumpsuit. It was an organic process and it made sense. There are 15 pieces to play with — no rules, no ‘looks,’ just opportunities. DKNY is urban and edgy but most of all, it’s individual! They truly embrace the weirdness in all of us, so you can really be yourself.”

Delevingne has decided to choose her models for the collection through Instagram. The “CaraWantsYou campaign chose eight models that the supermodel selected to represent the line.

The capsule collection will launch on October 5 at DKNY’s Madison Avenue store, Bloomingdale’s 59th St. store, Shopbop and DKNY.
