On November 12th, 2015, I was invited to the Partida Tequila launch of artist Alejandro Vigilante‘s new collection. Alejandro is an Argentinian born pop-artist based in Miami and we bonded immediately (because that is what Miami people do). It was such a great event enjoying drinks prepared with Partida Tequila blanco, añejo and reposado, perfectly mixed. There were 3 bars each serving a different cocktail and it was my duty to try them all to pick a favorite (for scientific purposes only, of course).
The first bar I went to was serving Spiced Old Fashioned, which I had a few sips but couldn’t finish it because I can’t handle spice. The next bar was serving La Paloma which I have never tried before and it was love at first sip. It was so refreshing (I’m still dreaming about it) and last, but not least, the 3rd bar was serving my favorite drink of all time Margarita. But let me tell you, I think La Paloma could be taking that title, ’cause I think it is my favorite drink now ( recipe below).
Then it was time to enjoy tacos, because yes tequila and tacos go hand in hand. They were also serving tortilla soup served in these super cute and tiny cups to us keep warm. The event was rooftop and kind of chilly that night. The view was ah-mazing while dancing to DJ Marcelle tunes. Everyone was enjoying themselves, I got to see familiar faces, some that I hadn’t seen in awhile, and meeting new people which is what these events are all about. The venue was full of influencers and celebrities mingling over our love for tequila.
I loved learning about the Mexican game of Loteria from Alejandro himself, it is always great to learn about cultures and traditions and I actually got to play it (I wasn’t too go at it). So that evening I learned about a new cocktail and a new game, so that is a win-win in my book.
